Situated between Meran and Bozen, the family owned Castle Katzenzungen is a typical Renaissance building. Groups of between 10 and 450 people fi nd room in the lordly halls, wood panelled Renaissance rooms, the smoke blackened kitchen and the arched cellar all year round for any kind of festivity: seminars in the bright rooms upstairs, historical banquets in the impressive arched rooms on the ground fl oor, a special dinner in a small group in the romantic smoke blackened kitchen, wine tasting in the deep cellar, snacks in one of the cosy Renaissance rooms that are heated by a wood fi re in the winter…The largest and oldest vine in Europe grows at the end of the 35 m land stone bridge that leads to the castle portal. It is approx. 600 years old and the leaves cover an area of 350 m2. The grapes are made into wine in the castle‘s cellar and the numbered bottles are available with a certifi cate.
